Hoffer Swiss Partners Portugal is seeking a highly accomplished Financial Controller to move beyond traditional accounting and act as a strategic business partner. The role lies at the intersection of Finance, Strategy and Business Management, supporting the firm's international growth.

The successful candidate will own the business-performance framework, develop KPIs, dashboards and models, and provide independent, fact-based recommendations to senior management.

Qualificações

• 6-10 years of relevant experience in financial control, business controlling, corporate finance, strategy, transaction services, management consulting or similar.
• Experience in service industries: call center, recruitment, consulting, financial services, professional services, investment firms, private banking or asset management.
• Strong financial modelling, analytical and business-planning capabilities.
• Proven ability to supervise a team (up to 6 consultants) and work with senior management.
• Excellent understanding of business economics, profitability and performance drivers.
• Fluent English and Spanish are essential; additional languages are advantageous.

THE ROLE

Hoffer Swiss Partners - www.Hofferpartners.Com - is a Swiss-based international recruitment & advisory firm operating at the intersection of financial services, strategic advisory, executive search and international financial markets.

We are looking for a highly accomplished Financial Controller to take a broader, business-oriented role within the organisation.

This is not a traditional accounting or reporting position. The successful candidate will act as a strategic business partner to the Senior Management providing the insight, analysis and control required to understand performance, identify opportunities and support the firm's continued international growth.

The role sits at the intersection of Finance, Strategy and Business Management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Performance & Control

• Take ownership of the firm's overall business-performance framework.
• Develop a deep understanding of the business model, revenue drivers, profitability and operating dynamics.
• Monitor performance across business lines, markets, clients and strategic initiatives.
• Establish meaningful KPIs and provide clear, forward-looking management information.
• Identify trends, deviations, risks and opportunities and challenge assumptions where appropriate.

Strategic Business Partnering

• Work closely with Senior Management on strategic and commercial priorities.
• Support business planning, growth initiatives, market expansion and resource-allocation decisions.
• Build financial and commercial models to assess new opportunities and strategic initiatives.
• Translate complex information into clear conclusions and actionable recommendations.
• Provide an independent, fact-based perspective on business decisions.

Commercial & Market Intelligence

• Analyse revenue generation, client economics, profitability and business-development activity.
• Monitor relevant developments across international financial markets and financial services.
• Identify opportunities arising from market, client and competitive developments.
• Support management in evaluating new markets, services and strategic partnerships.

Forecasting & Decision Support

• Own the forward-looking view of the business through forecasting, scenario analysis and business planning.
• Develop executive dashboards and concise management reporting.
• Provide visibility on expected performance, risks and opportunities.
• Continuously challenge the business to improve profitability, scalability and operating leverage.

Financial Control & Governance

• Maintain the integrity and reliability of the firm's financial information.
• Oversee budgeting, management accounts, cash-flow monitoring and financial controls.
• Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, tax advisers and banking partners.
• Ensure an appropriate level of financial governance as the business continues to grow.

THE PROFILE

We are looking for a intellectually curious and commercially minded finance professional who wants to be close to the business and senior decision-making. Someone entrepreneurial, business driven and independent.

The ideal candidate will have:

• 6 - 10 years of relevant experience in financial control, business controlling, corporate finance, strategy, transaction services, management consulting or a comparable environment.
• Experience in service type of industries : call center, recruitment, consulting, financial services, professional services, investment firms, private banking, wealth management, asset management, private equity, family offices or related sectors.
• Strong financial modelling, analytical and business-planning capabilities.
• Proven ability to supervise a team of up to 6 consultants, work directly with senior management, Partners or executives.
• Excellent understanding of business economics, profitability and performance drivers.
• Strong interest or understanding of international financial markets.
• Experience in an international and entrepreneurial environment.
• Exceptional commercial judgement, communication skills and professional maturity.
• High standards of discretion, integrity and attention to detail.

Fluent English and Spanish is essential. Any additional international languages are advantageous.
