Trustly is seeking a qualified accountant to join the Financial Reporting and Accounting team on a fixed term basis. You will own month-end and year-end close for a portfolio of entities, applying IFRS expertise in an international environment.

The role involves preparing financial reports, supporting the audit process, and collaborating across Tax, Treasury and FinOps. A strong accounting background and attention to detail are essential.

This role is in the Financial Reporting and Accounting team, part of the Group Internal Finance team at Trustly, which also comprises Tax, Treasury, Payroll, Finance Operations and Finance Systems. The team has an ethos of collaboration and continued improvement at its heart.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a great opportunity for a qualified accountant with solid IFRS experience in industry to join our Financial Reporting and Accounting team on a fixed term basis, covering a period of increased workload within the team. You will take ownership of month-end and year-end close for a portfolio of entities, working closely with more senior members of the team and applying your existing technical accounting expertise from day one.

Key Responsibilities

• Month End Close: Own the month end close process for assigned entities, preparing journals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules to a high standard and in compliance with relevant accounting standards.




• Financial Reporting: Preparing monthly/quarterly/annual commentaries for Balance Sheet and P&L variances.




• Audit Liaison: Support the year end audit process.




• Other: Actively participate in finance related projects, implement process improvements and collaborate closely with the wider Finance team, building relationships across Reporting, Tax, Treasury and FinOps.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

• Availability to start on a short notice period.




• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent, e.g. ROC for Portugal based candidates).




• Solid IFRS experience gained in an industry setting, with a strong understanding of how standards apply in a commercial context.




• Proven experience owning month end close processes end to end.




• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.




• Good working knowledge of Excel; exposure to accounting systems such as Netsuite is a plus but not essential.




• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced international environment.
