Job summary

HN Services Portugal is seeking a Finance Project Analyst in Lisbon to bridge Finance and IT, translating business needs into functional requirements and supporting the implementation of accounting and financial solutions.

The role focuses on IFRS-aligned accounting, GL interfaces, regulatory reporting, and the automation of financial processes, with close collaboration across Finance, IT and stakeholders through the full project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Finance, Accounting, Financial Analysis or Finance-related IT projects.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and their application.
• Solid understanding of general accounting principles, accounting schemes and financial reporting requirements.
• Knowledge of banking accounting and regulatory frameworks.
• Understanding of financial products, banking operations and/or capital markets.
• Experience in functional analysis, requirements definition and translating business needs into IT solutions.
• Familiarity with accounting systems, General Ledger interfaces and regulatory reporting processes.
• Understanding of IT project methodologies and the different stages of the project lifecycle.
• Experience in project coordination, roadmap definition and stakeholder management.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Power BI, particularly in dashboard development, reporting and data analysis.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and work across Finance and IT teams.

Responsibilities

• Analyse business needs and define financial and accounting requirements, ensuring alignment with IFRS standards and regulatory frameworks.
• Act as a bridge between Finance, IT and other stakeholders, translating business requirements into functional specifications and IT solutions.
• Define and document accounting schemes, structures and financial reporting requirements.
• Analyse and map financial transactions to the appropriate accounting flows, ensuring accurate accounting treatment.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of automated accounting flows, General Ledger interfaces and regulatory reporting solutions.
• Assess the accounting and regulatory impact of new requirements on financial systems and processes, proposing appropriate solutions.
• Support system configuration and parametrisation to ensure solutions meet business and accounting requirements.
• Contribute to project roadmap definition, planning and monitoring, ensuring alignment with deadlines, deliverables and project objectives.
• Coordinate activities across different teams, following the IT project lifecycle and participating in project committees.
• Define and execute functional tests, including accounting and financial reporting tests, to validate the accuracy and quality of implemented solutions.
• Develop and maintain financial reports and dashboards using Power BI, supporting financial analysis, data visualisation and performance monitoring.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation, contributing to the continuous evolution of financial systems and processes.
