We are hiring experienced beekeepers based in the Netherlands!

At Alvéole, we're building a network of independent beekeeper partners across cities. We need support from February-March 2026 to service our operations in Lisboa and we want to hear from passionate, skilled beekeepers who are interested in joining our community!

About The Role

Maintain honey beehives at client sites on a minimum three-week “cycle” basis, carrying out a variety of tasks to support bee health throughout the beekeeping season.

Tasks Include

• Installation
• Routine maintenance
• Data collection
• Record-keeping
• Pest / parasite control
• Facilitating educational workshops
• Driving regularly within your city including to client sites, yards, equipment and bee suppliers
• Engage with clients and tenants about the services Alvéole offers (including beehives, wild beehomes and data collected through samples)

Requirements

Essential

• Experience in beekeeping
• Comfortable working at heights and willing to work in buildings
• Comfortable with public speaking or presenting to a group in Portuguese & English
• Interest in pollinators, beekeeping, urban greening and/or Environmental Social Governance
• Valid driver’s license – more than 3 years with a clean driving record
• Your own vehicle
• Comfortable driving in cities
• Location to ship and receive and store beekeeping items
• Comfortable with the reality of beekeeping hazards (stings, heavy lifting, inclement weather, etc.)
• Heavy lifting (up to 30kg)
• Comfortable using online communications tools e.g., Gmail, Google Workspace, digital inspections and scheduling software
• Willingness and ability to work when our services need to be provided
• Being legally authorized to work in the country you are applying

• Customer service experience is an asset
