Loop Future in Portugal is expanding its development team and hiring a Mid-Senior Embedded Software Developer. You will design object-oriented software for embedded and constrained systems, close to hardware, with Embedded Linux and secure communications.

Depending on project, you may work with RTOS or PC-side C#/.NET applications. The role emphasizes security-minded development, integration with hardware, and tackling complex technical problems.

Qualificações

About Role

One of our clients, a leading communications company, is expanding its development team and looking to hire a Mid-Senior Embedded Software Developer. C++ is the core language across most projects. You will design object-oriented software for embedded and constrained systems, working close to hardware, Embedded Linux and secure communications. The role suits engineers who are comfortable understanding platform limitations, integrating software with hardware and solving complex technical problems. Depending on the project, you may also work with RTOS or PC-side C#/.NET applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain C++ software for embedded and constrained systems, using strong object-oriented principles to define classes, interfaces and interactions between components.
• Build and secure Yocto-based Linux distributions, ensuring a minimal attack surface and protected boot cycles.
• Integrate hardware interfaces and communication buses such as SPI, I2C and UART, taking memory, CPU and platform constraints into account.
• Integrate security controls such as encryption (AES, RSA), Secure Boot, and Hardware Root of Trust (TPM/HSM).
• Develop, test and debug software in Linux, Eclipse and VM-based environments, contributing to system integration and validation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience, ideally in embedded, low-level or hardware-constrained environments.
• Strong hands‑on C++ experience and solid object-oriented programming knowledge.
• Experience with Embedded Linux.
• Experience with secure communication protocols such as TLS/HTTPS; gRPC exposure is highly relevant.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, curiosity, initiative, autonomy and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

Nice to Have

• C#/.NET experience for PC-side applications or native Android development.
