Job summary

A leading research institution in Portugal is seeking a motivated Application & System Integration Engineer – Hardware Designer to lead the design and characterisation of embedded electronic systems. Candidates should possess an MSc in Electrical Engineering or a related field and be well-versed in hardware design tools such as Altium and KiCad. The position involves working on innovative projects in the agricultural and biomedical sectors.

Qualifications

• Experience with microcontrollers, SoCs, and communication interfaces (e.g., SPI, I2C).
• Strong understanding of embedded systems and power management.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for test automation.

Responsibilities

• Create schematics and PCB layouts using industry-standard tools.
• Perform hardware validation, characterisation, and debugging.
