A leading financial institution is seeking a Trainee for its Secretariat General in Madrid to support event organisation and communications with EU bodies. The ideal candidate should be in their final year or have a degree in Communication or Business Administration, possess excellent drafting and communication skills, and have expertise in Microsoft Office and social media. This is a 5-month traineeship starting March 2026.

Qualificações

• Final year of studies or university degree preferably in Communication and/or Business Administration.
• Knowledge of artificial intelligence and Microsoft 365 tools is an advantage.
• Good communication skills and proactive attitude.

EIB Trainee - Secretariat General – Institutional Representation Division – Madrid, Spain

Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st March 2026)

Eligibility: Only applicants who are nationals of the Member States of the European Union, or citizens from the following candidate countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, and Ukraine, will be considered. Candidates whose Erasmus+ programme overlaps with the traineeship period will not be considered. Applicants will be limited to a maximum of three traineeship publications; only the first three applications will be retained.

Objective: Support the Madrid Office in its representation role and the organisation of activities for programmes such as RRF, InvestEU, and TechEU. The trainee will report to the Head of Office and work closely with the Senior Institutional Affairs Officer, Office Manager, and Ops Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Organise events and meetings (logistics, invitations), liaise with venues, create lists of VIPs for invitations.
• Contact public organisations.
• Liaise with colleagues from EU Commission and EU Parliament.
• Collect data, prepare databases, and conduct guided analysis.
• Prepare presentations, draft notes, screen interlocutors and companies, and perform other tasks as needed.
• Support the Head of Office with the development of social media to improve communication of the Office and EIB projects in Spain.

Academic Qualifications And Professional Skills

• Final year of studies or university degree preferably in Communication and/or Business Administration.
• Knowledge of artificial intelligence and Microsoft 365 tools is an advantage.
• Good communication skills and proactive attitude.
• Good drafting skills.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint; working knowledge of social media platforms, especially LinkedIn.
• Excellent written and spoken English/French; knowledge of Spanish is a strong advantage.
