Job summary

Addvolt is seeking an experienced Environmental Health, Safety & Facilities Lead to strengthen EHS practices and manage our facilities in Matosinhos, Porto. This permanent, full-time role requires fluent English and hands-on leadership on the shop floor.

As we integrate into Carrier, you will align local EHS with Portuguese law and Carrier standards, lead audits, risk assessments, training, and budget management while maintaining a hands-on presence on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Fluent English required across written and spoken communications.
• Bachelor or Master in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in EHS and/or Facilities Management in manufacturing/industrial/tech settings.
• Good knowledge of Portuguese EHS legislation and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Promote a strong safety culture through engagement, inspections and continuous improvement.
• Lead and coordinate all EHS activities in line with Portuguese law, Carrier standards and internal requirements.
• Develop, maintain and monitor EHS policies, risk assessments and controls.
• Coordinate EHS audits, inspections and corrective action plans.
• Conduct and support incident investigations; implement root-cause analyses and preventive actions.
• Monitor EHS and facility KPIs; prepare management reports and support data-driven decisions.
• Manage EHS and facilities budgets, supplier relationships and investment proposals.
• Develop and deliver EHS training programs and ensure training compliance.
• Oversee maintenance, security and operational effectiveness of facilities and infrastructure.
• Coordinate facility improvement projects, layout changes and contractor activities.
• Manage contractor qualification, onboarding and permits-to-work.
