Devoteam Cyber Trust seeks a Network Security Consultant to join our Network Security Operations team in Porto. You will maintain enterprise firewalls, WAFs, and proxies while advancing automation and zero-trust microsegmentation within VMware environments to secure East-West traffic.

You will drive API-based automation using NSX/VSF9 APIs, and bring Fortinet API automation expertise to the VMware ecosystem. English proficiency is required for global collaboration.

Qualificações

• Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience with advanced microsegmentation (VMware NSX and/or VSF9).
• Experience integrating with NSX APIs and VSF9 APIs for automation.
• Fortinet/FortiGate API automation as transferrable skill.
• Strong TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPNs and secure design.
• Professional English proficiency.

Responsabilidades

• Network Security Operations: Lead the daily management, maintenance, and troubleshooting of enterprise Firewalls, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), and Proxy systems.
• Microsegmentation Architecture: Design, deploy, and enforce granular zero-trust microsegmentation policies within VMware virtualized environments to secure East-West traffic.
• Automation & Orchestration: Streamline operational workflows by consuming and interacting directly with infrastructure REST APIs to automate routine security policy updates.
• Incident & Change Management: Serve as a high-level escalation point for complex network security incidents, performance bottlenecks, and scheduled infrastructure changes.
• Collaboration & Mentorship: Partner with cross-functional infrastructure and Cloud/DevOps teams while providing technical guidance to junior engineering staff.

Job Description

We are seeking a Network Security Consultant to join our Network Security Operations team. This position demands a technical expert capable of maintaining infrastructure stability while driving automation and advanced security practices. You will serve as a subject matter expert, focusing heavily on VMware microsegmentation, firewall automation, and API integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Network Security Operations: Lead the daily management, maintenance, and troubleshooting of enterprise Firewalls, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), and Proxy systems.
• Microsegmentation Architecture: Design, deploy, and enforce granular zero-trust microsegmentation policies within VMware virtualized environments to secure East-West traffic.
• Automation & Orchestration: Streamline operational workflows by consuming and interacting directly with infrastructure REST APIs to automate routine security policy updates.
• Incident & Change Management: Serve as a high-level escalation point for complex network security incidents, performance bottlenecks, and scheduled infrastructure changes.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2+ years of dedicated hands-on experience with advanced microsegmentation solutions, specifically VMware NSX and/or VSF9.
• API Expertise: Proven background integrating with and consuming NSX APIs and VSF9 APIs for automation tasks.
• Alternative Profile: Strong expertise in Fortinet / FortiGate API automation will be fully considered as a transferrable skill set into the VMware ecosystem.
• Core Security Protocols: Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPNs, and modern security posture design.
• Languages: Professional working proficiency in English (written and spoken).

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Scripting: Solid proficiency in Python for network automation, infrastructure-as-code, and custom API tooling.
• Certifications: Relevant industry certifications such as VCP-NV / VCAP-NV (VMware), NSE 4+ (Fortinet), or general security credentials (CISSP, CISM).
