We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to support and review piping design projects. This role will focus on creating and reviewing technical drawings, isometrics, and P&IDs, as well as 3D modeling of piping systems and supports using Autodesk Inventor and Plant 3D.
Key Responsibilities:
- Isometric Creation:
- Develop and review detailed isometric drawings for piping systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Technical Drawing Reading:
- Interpret and validate technical and assembly drawings, identifying key components, dimensions, and tolerances for piping and mechanical systems.
- P&ID Creation and Reading:
- Design and analyze Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), ensuring clarity in process flows, instrumentation, and equipment integration.
- Piping and Support Modeling (3D):
- Create 3D models of piping systems and structural supports using Autodesk Inventor and Plant 3D, optimizing routing, spatial efficiency, and clash detection.
- Simulate and validate designs for manufacturability and installation feasibility.
- Generate comprehensive pipe plant layouts, including equipment placement, piping networks, and utility systems, aligned with process requirements.
- Specifications Creation:
- Define and document technical specifications for materials, components, and construction methods, ensuring adherence to pharmaceutical/GMP standards and safety regulations.
- MTO (Material Take-Off) and BOM (Bill of Materials) Creation:
- Compile detailed MTOs and BOMs using Autodesk Inventor and Plant 3D databases, listing piping materials, fittings, valves, and structural supports.
- Cross-reference materials between Inventor (equipment) and Plant 3D (piping) to ensure consistency and avoid discrepancies.
- Database Management:
- Maintain and update Plant 3D databases for piping and tubing systems, ensuring data integrity for material lists, revisions, and as-built documentation.
- Synchronize material lists between Autodesk Inventor (for equipment) and Plant 3D (for piping) to streamline procurement and fabrication.
Qualifications:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 2–6 years of professional experience in piping design or mechanical engineering, preferably in industrial, pharmaceutical, or process plant environments.
- Proven track record in 3D modeling of piping systems, supports, and plant layouts.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor (for equipment and mechanical components) and Plant 3D (for piping systems, isometrics, and plant design).
- Experience with P&ID creation and interpretation, isometric drawings, and technical specifications for piping and process equipment.
