Decskill, an IT consulting company with over 10 years of experience, is seeking a Data Engineer & Data Infrastructure Specialist in Portugal. You will develop and operate data analytics applications on an AWS-based Big Data platform, using Python and SQL to build end-to-end features and support data science initiatives.

Qualificações

  • Up to 5 years of professional experience in Data Engineer roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with Python for data manipulation and processing.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience in production environments and model deployment to production.
  • Fluent English is mandatory.

Responsabilidades

  • Develop end-to-end features on a cloud-based Big Data platform (AWS) focused on data analysis and processing.
  • Actively participate in architecture discussions, defining data flows and processes for new features.
  • Develop PoCs to validate technical approaches and solutions.
  • Develop production-ready solutions and perform testing.
  • Deploy solutions across development, QA, and production environments.
  • Monitor initial operation of deployed solutions and perform debugging, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Document features, solutions, and processes developed.
  • Provide support with data extraction and exploratory data analysis.
  • Collaborate with technical and business teams to identify and solve problems.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of data solution quality, performance, and reliability.

We are looking for an Data Engineer & Data Infrastructure Specialist!
Mission

The ideal candidate has experience with Python and SQL and is capable of developing, operating, and maintaining data analytics applications on a cloud-based Big Data platform in AWS. The candidate should have an interest in Data Science, be able to work independently and proactively, and collaborate effectively within a small and dynamic team.

Responsabilities
  • Develop end-to-end features on a cloud-based Big Data platform (AWS), focused on data analysis and processing.
  • Actively participate in the architecture discussions, defining the data flows and processes required for new features.
  • Develop Proofs of Concept (PoCs) to validate technical approaches and solutions.
  • Develop production-ready solutions and perform testing.
  • Deploy solutions across development, quality assurance, and production environments.
  • Monitor the initial operation of deployed solutions and perform debugging, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Document the features, solutions, and processes developed.
  • Provide support with data extraction and exploratory data analysis.
  • Collaborate with technical and business teams to identify and solve problems.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the quality, performance, and reliability of data solutions
Requirements:
  • Up to 5 years of professional experience in the role to be contracted.
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with Python, particularly for data manipulation and processing.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Experience in programming, debugging, and technical problem-solving.
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience developing and/or operating applications in production environments.
  • Experience with model deployment to production environments and model lifecycle management.
  • Interest in and knowledge of Data Science.
  • Knowledge of Git.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive mindset and strong initiative.
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability and willingness to independently research and identify solutions to technical challenges.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Willingness and motivation to learn new technologies and develop new skills.
  • Strong commitment to the quality of deliverables.
  • Fluent English is mandatory.
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Experience with AWS cloud services, such as: S3, Lambda, Athena, EC2, Glue, CDK / CloudFormation, Step Functions, Batch, Fargate.
  • Experience with Apache Spark / PySpark.
  • Experience with Jupyter Notebooks.
  • Knowledge of GDPR.
  • Experience working in global and multicultural teams.
