KWAN in Lisbon seeks a Data Platform Engineer to design and evolve data models for the AMR platform and Meta Planner, covering transport orders, robot states, missions, routes, and configurations. You will architect scalable solutions ensuring real-time control is separated from analytics.

You will optimize query performance, implement schema evolution and data quality standards, and collaborate with Backend, Algorithm, Frontend, and DevOps teams to deliver analytics-ready data for dashboards

Qualificações

• At least 5 years of experience in similar roles.
• Strong experience in relational database design (PostgreSQL) including schema modeling, transactions, constraints and migrations.
• Proven expertise in modeling operational and real-time data, concurrency, event sourcing, write/read model separation.
• Solid software engineering background with advanced SQL, Python or Rust, Git workflows and Docker/Linux environments.
• Ability to prepare structured data for analytics, KPI visualization, history modeling and data validation.
• Product-oriented mindset with focus on reliability, scalability and usability.

• Actively design and evolve the data models for the AMR platform and Meta Planner, covering transport orders, robot states, missions, routes, traffic status, and system configurations.
• Architect scalable solutions that clearly separate operational workloads (real-time control) from analytics and reporting histories to ensure system stability.
• Guarantee fast, consistent, and reliable data access for backend services, planning algorithms, and automation by optimizing query performance, indexing, and partitioning strategies.
• Establish robust standards for schema evolution, migrations, data quality, auditability, and governance while managing the lifecycle of historical and configuration data.
• Create analytics-ready structures for dashboards and KPIs, collaborating directly with Backend, Algorithm, Frontend, and DevOps teams to ensure technical excellence.

What we are looking for

• At least 5 years of experience in similar roles;
• Strong experience in relational database design (ideally PostgreSQL), including deep knowledge of schema modeling, normalization, transactions, constraints, and migration strategies.
• Proven expertise in modeling operational and real-time data, understanding concurrency, consistency, event sourcing patterns, and separating write/read models effectively.
• Solid software engineering background: advanced SQL skills, experience with Python or Rust for backend logic, Git workflows, CI/CD practices, and Docker/Linux environments.
• Ability to prepare structured data for analytics, KPI visualization, and reporting, including knowledge of history modeling, materialized views, aggregations, and data validation.
• Product-oriented mindset: you understand how database architecture influences system reliability, scalability, and product usability, preferring pragmatic solutions over theoretical perfection.
• Proficiency in English.
