1GLOBAL is seeking a hands-on Data Engineer to join our Lisbon data platform. You’ll shape the data model, build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines, and ensure reliable data for reporting and analytics.

You’ll work with Kafka, Airflow, and modern data tools to deliver end-to-end data flows. Strong Python, SQL, and communication skills are essential for success in our fast-paced, global environment.

Qualificações

• 3–5 years of hands-on data engineering experience.
• Strong SQL— window functions, CTEs, query optimization.
• Experience building and maintaining data pipelines on AWS S3, Glue, and Athena.
• Practical understanding of data modelling: raw → conformed layers and dimensional modelling basics.
• Experience consuming from Kafka (or other streaming systems) as a data source.
• Advanced proficiency in Python for ETL development, data manipulation, and automation.
• Strong communications skills.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and implement data models, ensuring data accuracy and reliability across raw and curated layers.
• Create and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines that ingest data from source systems into our S3-based data lake.
• Consume from Kafka topics and build robust logic handling late, duplicate, or out-of-order events.
• Own data transformations with tests and documentation to ensure trust in numbers.
• Orchestrate and monitor pipelines in Airflow, including retries, alerting, backfills, and SLAs.
• Write efficient SQL for transformation logic and ad-hoc investigations.
• Contribute to data quality checks and flag anomalies before they reach reporting.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth development processes and shared understanding.
• Take ownership of end-to-end data flows and maintain accurate technical documentation.
