Continental’s Data & Customer Solutions Competence Center is seeking a Data Engineer to join a SCRUM team, building and enhancing digital data services for automotive customers and internal teams. You will work with backend developers, solution architects and UI/App developers to deliver scalable data solutions in a cloud environment.

Responsibilities include maintaining cloud-based data platforms, developing batch and real-time pipelines, monitoring issues, and supporting CI/CD and automation

Qualificações

• University degree in Computer Science, IT, or related studies.
• +2 years of experience in data engineering or data warehousing.
• Experience with Java and SQL.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL is an advantage.
• Familiar with Kafka and Apache Flink.
• Exposure to data lake tech such as Apache Iceberg.

Continental’s Data & Customer Solutions Competence Center develops innovative digital products that support both our customers and internal teams, and we’d love for you to be part of it!

Our Digital Solutions IT team is searching for a talented Data Engineer to oversee and enhance our data services.

As a Data Engineer, you will work in a SCRUM team closely with the backend developers, solutions architects and UI/App developers to build and enhance our existing and future digital services within Continental Tires.

Main responsibilities:

• Support and maintain cloud-based data platforms, pipelines, and streaming solutions;
• Develop and enhance batch and real-time data pipelines:
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data and platform issues;
• Support CI/CD, deployment, and automation processes;
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and deliver data requirements;
• Contribute to data models, Lakehouse structures, and data quality improvements;
• Apply engineering best practices through testing, code reviews, and documentation;
• Work with internal and external teams to deliver scalable data solutions;
• Ensure data reliability, performance, and availability across platforms;
• Stay current with cloud, data, and streaming technologies and contribute to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science, IT, or related studies;
• +2 years of experience in data engineering, software development, or data warehousing.
• Experience with Java and SQL;
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL is an advantage;
• Understanding of data integration and processing of data from multiple source systems;
• Familiarity with data streaming technologies such as Kafka and Apache Flink;
• Exposure to modern data lake technologies (e.g., Apache Iceberg) is a plus;
• Knowledge of HBase, Spark, or Hive is a plus;
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD practices, and tools such as Jenkins;
• Experience working in Agile/SCRUM teams;
• Analytical mindset and excellent problem-solving skills;
• Proficient English skills (written and spoken).
