Job summary

Closer Consulting is seeking a Data Engineer specialized in Apache NiFi to join a hybrid team in Lisbon. You will design and implement robust data pipelines, collaborate with stakeholders across multiple industries, and mentor junior teammates in a fast-paced analytics environment.

The role emphasizes end-to-end data engineering, CI/CD for data artifacts, and opportunities to work with BI tools and advanced analytics. English proficiency is mandatory in a client-facing setting.

Qualifications

• 5 to 7 years of experience in Data Engineering.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python and/or PySpark, and Apache NiFi.
• Experience designing robust data pipelines and data models.
• Full professional proficiency in English.
• Client-facing mindset with ability to mentor junior team members.
• Nice to have: Alteryx, Talend or similar ETL tools.
• Nice to have: Dataiku, BI tools (Power BI, Tableau), SAS; Agile/JIRA familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust data pipelines and data models.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across industries to deliver analytics solutions.
• Mentor junior team members and promote best practices.

5 to 7 years of proven professional experience in Data Engineering. Strong proficiency in SQL, Python and/or PySpark, and Apache NiFi (mandatory). Solid background designing and implementing robust data pipelines/integration processes (e.g., Alteryx, Talend, or similar tools). Hands-on experience designing data models, schemas, and implementing CI/CD pipelines for end-to-end artifact releases. Full professional proficiency in English (mandatory). Client-oriented mindset, proactive attitude, strong communication skills to interact with diverse stakeholders, and readiness to mentor junior team members.
