Hakkoda, an IBM company, is seeking a Data Architect to own platform architecture for a large insurance engagement. You will lead a delivery team, manage client relationships, and drive end-to-end success using Snowflake, dbt, and GitLab CI/CD. Strong leadership and deep cloud data experience are essential.

The role requires extensive data architecture expertise, hands-on Snowflake proficiency, and the ability to guide governance, security, and data modeling across enterprise-scale projects.

Qualificações

• 8+ years in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise consulting with client delivery.
• Deep Snowflake architecture expertise (warehouses, RBAC, security, Streams, Tasks, Dynamic Tables).
• Proven ability to design and implement modern data architecture patterns (Medallion architecture, data sharing, external volumes).
• Team leadership and cross-functional stakeholder management in consulting environments.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and orchestration/transformation tools (dbt, GitLab CI/CD, or equivalent).
• Cloud platform expertise (AWS, Azure, GCP) including object storage, networking, IAM, and secrets management in production environments.

Responsabilidades

• Lead sprint ceremonies, engagement planning, and executive status reporting.
• Proactively surface risks, blockers, and scope changes with proposed resolutions.
• Partner with project managers and practice leadership on delivery health.

Your Role And Responsibilities

As a Data Architect within IBM Consulting’s Data & AI practice, you will be aligned to a large statewide insurance client engagement. You’ll serve as the primary technical authority - owning platform architecture, leading a delivery team, and managing client relationships to drive end-to-end delivery success.

Client & Engagement Management

• Primary technical point of contact for client stakeholders and executives.
• Lead sprint ceremonies, engagement planning, and executive status reporting.
• Proactively surface risks, blockers, and scope changes with proposed resolutions.
• Partner with project managers and practice leadership on delivery health.

Solution Architecture & Technical Leadership

• Own Snowflake platform architecture aligned to enterprise and insurance-domain standards.
• Design Snowflake objects, roles, and governance at SnowPro Advanced: Architect depth.
• Architect Bronze/Silver/Gold medallion data models for Snowflake performance and BI consumption.
• Evaluate and adopt Snowflake Cortex AI, Iceberg tables, and data sharing capabilities.
• dbt & Transformation Delivery
• Lead dbt model design, materialization strategy, macros, packages, and testing.
• Establish GitLab-based CI/CD pipelines for dbt deployment and code governance.
• Define coding standards, documentation practices, and peer review processes.

AWS Infrastructure & Integration

• Architect Snowflake–AWS integrations across S3, IAM, VPC, PrivateLink, and Glue.
• Monitor pipeline SLAs and costs; lead root-cause analysis for data incidents.

Team Leadership & Enablement

• Manage and mentor data engineers and analytics engineers across the engagement.
• Drive enablement on Snowflake, dbt, and GitLab best practices.
• Contribute reusable accelerators and internal knowledge-sharing to the practice.

This position is for Hakkoda, an IBM company, a Snowflake specialist that joined IBM through acquisition last year.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

• 8+ years in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise consulting with demonstrated client-facing delivery experience
• Deep hands-on expertise in Snowflake architecture (warehouses, RBAC, security model, advanced features like Streams, Tasks, Dynamic Tables)
• Proven ability to design and implement modern data architecture patterns (Medallion architecture, data sharing, external volumes)
• Team leadership and cross-functional stakeholder management experience in consulting or professional services environments
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and modern orchestration/transformation tools (dbt, GitLab CI/CD, or equivalent)
• Cloud platform expertise (AWS, Azure, GCP) including object storage, networking, IAM, and secrets management in production environments.

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

• Snowflake SnowPro Advanced: Architect certification
• Deep cloud platform expertise across AWS, Azure, or GCP including object storage, data integration/ETL tooling, identity and access management, virtual networking, and private connectivity patterns in production environments; infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform or equivalent)
• Demonstrated client delivery experience in regulated or mission-critical business environments with strong governance, compliance, and risk management requirements
