EDP is seeking an experienced AI/Automation Engineer to develop and implement AI-driven solutions. You will work hands-on with Generative AI, data pipelines, and automation tools to create scalable, production-ready applications across the business.

The role requires translating business needs into technical solutions, building APIs, and delivering insights to improve operational efficiency. Location-based in Lisbon or Porto with a focus on collaborative, agile teams.

Qualificações

• 5+ years in Data, AI, Automation or Software Engineering.
• Strong Python and SQL skills.
• Experience with low-code tools (UiPath, Power Automate).
• Experience with data platforms (Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Fabric).
• Experience with APIs and data pipelines.
• Solid understanding of analytics and Agile development.
• Interest or experience in Generative AI (LLM integration, prompt engineering).

What you will do:

The candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing AI, automation, and data-driven solutions that: improve business processes and customer experience, reduce repetitive work, accelerate execution and give our business teams greater ability to turn ideas into solutions.

You will work hands-on with Generative AI, data pipelines, and automation tools to create scalable, production-ready solutions. The role involves designing end-to-end automations, building AI-powered applications using LLMs and modern AI frameworks, and developing data solutions that generate actionable insights and support business growth. Working closely with business teams, the candidate will identify high-impact opportunities, translate business needs into technical solutions, and ensure that developed tools are practical, maintainable, and widely adopted across the organization.

Key responsibilities:

Automation & Process Innovation

• Design end-to-end automations integrating AI, data and business applications ,
• Develop technical solutions using tools like chatbots and python code to automate business processes,
• Create APIs to integrate with other applications and propose changes to existing APIs to improve live automation solutions,
• Design and implement GenAI-powered solutions ,
• Work with LLMs, prompt engineering and modern AI frameworks ,
• Build end-to-end data solutions using multiple data sources to generate insights for the business and possible automations ideas,
• Develop data-driven applications and backend components using platforms such as databricks,
• Deliver actionable insights and tools to improve operational efficiency ,
• Work directly with business teams to identify high-impact use cases with no intermediaries,
• Translate real-world problems into scalable technical solutions ,
• Discuss with business owners the best solutions for their problems.

What are we looking for

• More than 5 years of experience in Data, AI, Automation or Software Engineering,
• Degree or master's on technological areas such as: Electrical and computer engineering, Applied Mathematics and Computation, Computer engineering, Data Science other degrees relevant to the role,
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL,
• Experience or Knowledge with low-code tools (UiPath or PowerAutomate),
• Experience with data platforms (Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Fabric) ,
• Experience with APIs (Development and execution),
• Solid understanding of data pipelines and analytics ,
• Experience working in an Agile development team,
• Interest or experience in Generative AI (LLM integration, prompt engineering, agent development on tools such as (Co-pilot Studio or other tools).
