GBT Solutions in Braga, Portugal is seeking a Cyber Security L3 Firewall Engineer to build, deploy, and maintain Next Generation Firewalls in complex environments and to implement secure policies. The role requires hands-on firewall management across multiple vendors, strong TCP/IP knowledge, and the ability to troubleshoot advanced network security issues.

Qualificações

• Minimum 3 years of practical experience in cyber security or a related field.
• 3+ years hands-on firewall experience across multiple vendors.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and services.
• Experience with LAN/WAN networking, protocol architecture, and OS/application vulnerabilities.
• Relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISM, CISSP, GIAC).

Key Responsibilities

• Build, implement, maintain, and support Next Generation Firewalls in complex environments.
• Configure, maintain, and review security policies and advanced firewall capabilities.

• Implement, validate, and optimize firewall rulesets and policies.
• Troubleshoot complex network security issues and collaborate with cross‑functional teams for resolution.
• Work closely with Infrastructure Management and Cyber Security teams to enhance security posture.
• Support Incident Handlers in identifying and remediating security incidents.
• Review security documentation and provide technical guidance when required.
• Execute additional duties aligned with cyber security operations.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of practical experience in cyber security or a related field.
• At least 3 years of hands‑on experience with:
• Firewall installation and management across multiple vendors
• Solid understanding of network protocols and traffic analysis.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex network security issues.
• Experience with LAN/WAN networking, protocol architecture, and OS/application vulnerabilities.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and services.
• Experience with ix-based operating systems*.
• Relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISM, CISSP, GIAC).
