Trakstar is seeking a Cobol Developer to maintain and enhance a critical legacy platform that processes millions of daily transactions for settlements in the UK market. You will translate business needs into technical specs and contribute to refactoring using AI-assisted tools.

The role requires 4+ years of COBOL experience, expertise in Microfocus COBOL, and familiarity with PowerHouse and Eloquence. You will work in an Agile environment with DevOps tooling and Git, in a financial services

Qualificações

• 4+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Expertise in Microfocus COBOL.
• Familiarity with PowerHouse (4GL) and Eloquence (Marxmeier).
• Hands-on experience with DevOps tools and Git version-control.
• Background in the financial sector.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Fluent in English.

Responsabilidades

• Translate business needs into technical specs and maintain legacy COBOL code.
• Use AI-assisted tools to understand, refactor, and modify components safely.
• Build and maintain unit/integration test suites and support acceptance testing.
• Advise on modern tooling, CI/CD, data validation, and monitoring.
• Document changes and ensure security/regulatory compliance.
