HumanIT Digital Consulting in Portugal is seeking a senior Cloud Support Engineer with AWS, Kubernetes and Terraform expertise. This is a full remote role, operating in a multi-cloud environment across AWS, GCP, Azure and OpenStack.

You'll own cloud platform support, manage on-call incidents, and ensure reliable operation of enterprise SaaS/PaaS stacks, including Linux-based environments. The role demands strong scripting skills and on-call readiness.

Responsabilidades

• Handle on-call incidents and pager duties as part of operations.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

A senior-level cloud support engineering role with real operational depth — not a helpdesk function, not a ticket-routing seat. You'll be the technical owner of cloud platform support across a multi-cloud environment, working on the infrastructure that keeps enterprise-grade SaaS and PaaS products running. If you've spent years on AWS operations, know your way around Kubernetes and Terraform in production, and thrive in an on-call, fast-response culture, this is a contract with substance and scope.

PROJECT & CONTEXT

You'll join a cloud operations team responsible for supporting, configuring, and troubleshooting cloud infrastructure across AWS (primary), GCP, Azure, and OpenStack. The environment spans containerised workloads on Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, Java application stacks (Tomcat, JBoss), and Linux-based systems — all running at enterprise scale. The role includes on-call pager duty responsibilities and requires the ability to diagnose and resolve complex, multi-layer cloud, network, and access issues with minimal escalation. Contract runs until 31 August 2027, starting ASAP.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Experience

• Senior-level background in cloud support, cloud operations, or platform engineering

Cloud Platforms

• AWS — mandatory, hands-on production experience (2+ years)
• Strong command of IAM, VPC networking, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Config, and Backup
• Experience with AWS multi-account architecture and governance
• Working knowledge of GCP, Azure, or OpenStack (at least one additional platform)
• Solid understanding of cloud computing fundamentals: IaaS, PaaS, SaaS
• Experience configuring and optimising cloud resources: VPC, IAM, Auto Scaling

Container Orchestration & Infrastructure

• Kubernetes — 2+ years of hands-on experience in production environments
• Docker and VM-based workload management
• Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and change management
• Helm charts for Kubernetes application deployment

CI/CD & Tooling

• CI/CD pipeline experience — Git-based workflows and automation tooling (2+ years)
• Familiarity with Rundeck for operational job scheduling and automation
• Grafana for monitoring and observability
• JIRA for incident and change tracking

Application Stack & Scripting

• Experience supporting Java application stacks: Tomcat, JBoss, MySQL (2+ years)
• Linux system administration and troubleshooting (3+ years)
• Scripting proficiency in Bash, Python, and/or Zsh

Security & Compliance

• Hands-on implementation of security configurations, access controls, and IAM best practices
• Working knowledge of cloud security standards and governance frameworks

On-Call Operations

• On-call pager duty experience (1+ year) — comfortable owning incidents outside business hours

• Familiarity with FinOps Foundation concepts and cloud cost optimisation frameworks
• Experience with Windows system administration alongside Linux
• PowerShell scripting in a hybrid or Windows-adjacent cloud environment
