VML South Africa is seeking a Cloud & Platform DBA/Database Reliability Engineer to manage and secure both managed and self-managed databases, ensuring optimal performance, cost efficiency, and high availability. You will primarily work across AWS and GCP while participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with relational databases, strong performance tuning skills, and a proactive automation mindset. A comprehensive benefits package, including training opportunities, is offered.

Qualificações

• Hands-on production experience with managed relational databases in AWS or GCP.
• Experience administering enterprise RDBMS in Linux/Unix.
• Strong performance tuning skills and HA/DR expertise.
• Familiarity with automation tools and databases.

Responsabilidades

• Operate managed databases on AWS and GCP.
• Build and support self-managed databases.
• Implement automation and change management processes.
• Monitor performance and ensure security of databases.
