Job summary

Kuehne+Nagel is hiring for a Cloud Value Engineer in Porto. You will drive cloud cost optimization across AWS, GCP, and Azure, collaborating with finance, infra, and product teams to optimize cost and value. The role emphasizes data-driven decision making, policy-as-code, and DevFinOps practices.

You will join a distributed team across Europe and contribute to cost-aware product development, operation, and financial management, with flexible hours and remote work options.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable knowledge of AWS services including cost explorer, QuickSight, and budgets.
• Understanding of cloud concepts like compute, tagging, billing, and pricing models.
• Knowledge of cost showback, cost attribution, forecasting, and amortization.
• Ability to process and analyze large financial data with standard tools and query languages.
• MS Excel skills for integration and data handling.
• Strong communication and presentation skills for decision support.
• Experience in Policy-as-Code and integration into pipelines.
• Understanding software architecture patterns for cost-effective solutions.
• Experience in consulting and onboarding DevOps into CFM activities.

Responsibilities

• Analyze cloud spend across cross-application scopes using CFM methods and tooling.
• Collaborate with finance, infrastructure, and cloud account teams to refine methods.
• Identify cost optimization potentials and provide input for decision makers.
• Act as a trusted advisor to KN stakeholders with engineering mindset and data analysis.
• Monitor cloud spend and prepare weekly and monthly reports.
• Advise on cost optimization strategies and track progress of activities.
• Support operational teams in implementing guardrails and controls.
• Assist product development in FinOps/DevFinOps activities.
• Contribute to building the CVE team's big picture from a CFM perspective.
