Blip is seeking a Cloud Engineer to drive the implementation, automation, and operation of an AWS cloud platform that underpins Flutter Entertainment’s betting brands. You will shape technology choices, migrate and modernise services, and promote knowledge sharing across the team.

You will automate deployments, write low-level designs, and support cloud architecture with a strong focus on security, performance, and cost efficiency.

Qualificações

• Experience building and operating AWS cloud platforms for scalable services.
• Strong networking knowledge including NAT, VPC, DNS, and firewall concepts.
• Experience with IaC tools (CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Proven ability to manage deployments, runbooks, and incident responses.

Overview

Cloud Engineer at Blip to drive the implementation, automation, and operation of our AWS cloud platform. The platform underpins global services across Flutter Entertainment’s betting brands. You will shape technology choices across Flutter’s cloud hosting platforms, migrate and modernise services, promote knowledge sharing, and help deliver technology to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate a secure, performant, and cost-effective AWS cloud platform.
• Automate system deployment and operations using Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tooling.
• Maintain source code and artefact repositories; write and review platform code with a focus on quality.
• Enable and support engineering teams with the adoption of cloud services.
• Triage incidents, problems, and risks impacting Flutter cloud services.
• Write and maintain technical documentation; define, document, support, and approve low-level designs (LLDs) for Flutter cloud services.
• Support cloud architecture and function leads with developing the cloud technology roadmap and strategy.
• Act as a trusted SME, sharing knowledge with the broader technology team and internal customers.
• Create and drive adoption of standard operating procedures, policies, and runbooks.
• Facilitate the development and communication of Flutter Group standards for design, development, and deployment.
• Collaborate with other group functions and third-party vendors; build and maintain strategic relationships.
• Be part of an on-call rota.

Qualifications & Experience

• Strong track record building and operating infrastructure and cloud platforms, ideally in highly available AWS environments.
• Solid networking knowledge (TCP/IP, Firewalls, AWS networking services such as CloudWAN, DNS, and Network Firewall).
• Experience relocating, rehosting, refactoring, and rearchitecting services into AWS.
• Proficiency with source control (Git/GitHub) and CI/CD pipelines; managing deployment assets (AMIs, container images, artefacts).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Orchestration and management of container platforms (preferably Kubernetes).
• Ability to deliver systems in security-compliant environments and write/maintain technical documentation.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder-management skills; experience working in agile environments and incident/change/risk management.
• Bonus: software engineering experience, coding, and automation.
