Fundação Champalimaud in Lisbon invites applications for two bioinformaticians to join the Botton-Champalimaud Pancreatic Cancer Centre. The role involves developing and implementing scalable bioinformatics pipelines in cloud environments to analyse complex genomic data and support advancing cancer research.

Candidates should have a strong background in bioinformatics, hands-on cloud experience (AWS, GCP, Azure), and programming skills in Python and/or R.

Qualificações

• MSc in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a closely related field with a strong computational focus.
• Proven experience in developing and running bioinformatics pipelines in HPC or cloud computing environments (e.g., AWS Batch, GCP, etc.).

Responsabilidades

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud-bioinformatics pipelines.
• Handle multi-omic data types including cancer WGS, RNA-seq, single-cell, spatial transcriptomics, and long-read sequencing.
• Collaborate with experimental biologists and clinicians to achieve core research goals.
• Document analyses, code, and pipelines to promote reproducibility.
