Your role

We are seeking a highly skilled and digitally fluent Clinical Embryologist, registered with the Ordem dos Biólogos or ESHRE, to join our embryology team. You will play a hands‑on role in the delivery of ART procedures, laboratory quality, and innovation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for science, precision, and process optimisation, who wants to contribute to shaping the future of fertility care.

This is an on‑site role based at our serene clinic in Cascais, Portugal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Embryology Procedures – Perform core ART procedures: dish preparation, oocyte pickup, IUI, egg freezing, IVF, ICSI, blastocyst culture, embryo grading, vitrification/warming of gametes and embryos, PGT prep, biopsy and tubing. Perform routine andrology techniques including sperm preparation and analysis. Ensure accurate electronic documentation of procedures and patient data.
  • Laboratory Operations & Compliance – Work according to defined SOPs and best practices in embryology and andrology. Maintain laboratory records, logs, and witness procedures electronically. Adhere to Portuguese and EU regulations for ART laboratory compliance. Contribute to lab quality control systems and participate in audit preparation.
  • Technology & Innovation – Use AI-based embryo, oocyte, and sperm selection tools where applicable. Participate in lab digitisation, automation initiatives, and workflow improvement. Collaborate with technical teams to support digital integration across clinical systems. Stay updated on advancements in embryology tools and ART technologies.
  • Collaboration & Patient Communication – Work closely with physicians, nurses, and admin teams to ensure seamless treatment delivery. Communicate laboratory results clearly and compassionately to patients when appropriate. Participate in multidisciplinary team discussions to optimise patient care plans.
  • Research & Development – Contribute to internal and external R&D efforts, including clinical trials and publications. Maintain a curious mindset and suggest areas for innovation in lab practice.
Your profile
  • MSc in Clinical Embryology, Biology, or related life science.
  • Valid registration with the Ordem dos Biólogos (Portugal) or ESHRE is required.
  • 3+ years of experience in clinical embryology in an IVF/ART setting.
  • Proficient at ICSI and biopsy procedures with KPI data to back it up.
  • Familiarity with electronic witnessing systems, digital lab tools, and AI-based platforms is preferable.
  • Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Comfortable using digital systems and contributing to process improvement.
  • Portuguese fluency and strong English skills are preferred.
