Job summary

WaveWorks in Funchal, Madeira seeks a dedicated Caregiver for a contract role. You will assist clients with daily activities, administer medications as prescribed, prepare meals, and help with light housekeeping. You will accompany clients to appointments and provide emotional support.

Ideal candidates have proven caregiving experience, excellent communication, and the ability to stay calm in emergencies. Portuguese residency not required; nondiscrimination.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to join our team in Funchal, Portugal. As a caregiver, you will provide essential assistance and support to individuals who require help with daily activities due to illness, injury, or aging.

Responsibilities:

• Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
• Administer medication as prescribed by the client's physician
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding if necessary
• Help with household tasks such as light cleaning and laundry
• Accompany clients to appointments and social events
• Monitor clients' health and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate medical professionals
• Provide emotional support and companionship to clients

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a caregiver or similar role
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport with clients
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently
• Physical stamina and ability to lift/move heavy objects if required
• Valid first aid/CPR certification preferred but not required

Salary:

We offer a competitive salary of 1700$ per month for this contract position.

Location:

This role is based in Funchal, Portugal. However, we welcome caregivers of all nationalities.
