Aubay Portugal is seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a strong Payments background to work in a hybrid Lisbon setup. The role involves translating complex business needs into clear functional specifications and delivering technology-backed solutions across distributed teams.

Ideal candidates will have 8+ years of BA experience, deep Payments knowledge including ISO 20022, and hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, SQL, APIs, and COBOL. Portuguese work eligibility required.

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT or a related field.
• A minimum of 8 years of professional experience as a Business Analyst, with a proven track record working with distributed delivery teams across various geographies.
• Solid experience in the Payments domain, including financial messaging (e.g., ISO 20022 migration for SEPA/SIC/SWIFT, SWIFT MT94x) and relevant knowledge of back & middle office operations.
• Proven ability to translate complex business needs into clear functional specifications and technology-supported solutions.
• Hands‑on experience with the full project lifecycle, from requirements gathering, analysis, and design to testing and deployment.
• Proficiency in eliciting requirements through workshops, brainstorming sessions, and defining use cases/user stories.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence for project and documentation management.
• Familiarity with technologies such as COBOL, SQL, APIs, and Digital Banking; experience in a private banking environment is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, process‑driven, problem‑solving, and detail‑oriented mindset.
• Based in Lisbon, available for a hybrid work model (2-3 days on‑site per week).
• Eligible to work in Portugal (Portuguese citizen or foreign with valid work permit).
