The role

We are seeking a self‑motivated, curious, and inspired brand designer to join our design team. This role is ideal for a proactive designer who is excited to contribute to a growing design team and make a significant impact in shaping the future of the GoCardless brand.

Must have skills
  • Proficiency in design tools: Native in Figma, excited about building brand design systems that optimise for scale and automation, comfortable in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and preparing assets for production.
  • AI: Familiar with and enthusiastic about the role AI plays in design, using it to generate assets, expedite processes or unblock work.
  • Art direction: Strong visual taste and judgment across a spectrum of disciplines and channels – from email nurture campaigns to global marketing, product launches or headline events.
  • Motion design tools: Experience creating micro‑animations and interactive elements in After Effects, Jitter, Rive, etc.
  • Curiosity about emerging design tools: Comfortable adopting new tools and exploring novel ways of working, such as combining ChatGPT, Midjourney, Runway, Figma Make or Spline.

What you can expect to work on

The role of a brand designer at GoCardless contributes directly to the company’s growth and is varied and far‑reaching. Typically you can expect to work on:

  • The evolution of the GoCardless brand
  • Acquisition campaigns across our addressable market (digital ads, landing pages, events, bespoke direct mail)
  • In‑life growth (Lifecycle) marketing campaigns

  • Design operations (optimising how we work)
Salary range

Base salary range: €32,800 – €49,200. Base salary ranges may vary by geography, level of experience, interview assessment and parity with similar roles. We strive to offer competitive compensation but there is no guarantee the offered salary will reach the upper limit of the stated range.
