Job Purpose
The BIM Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating BIM processes, models, and information across multidisciplinary project teams. This role ensures that BIM requirements, information management standards, and project workflows are consistently implemented throughout the design and construction stages. The position will act as a key link between design teams, information management, and project stakeholders, supporting high-quality information delivery, effective model coordination, and continuous improvement of BIM processes and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Define BIM requirements tailored to project-specific demands and ensure they are clearly communicated to all relevant stakeholders. Implement and monitor compliance with project BIM requirements across design and construction teams.
- Coordinate with the Design Manager and Information Manager to ensure alignment with information exchange protocols, Common Data Environment (CDE) workflows, and project information requirements.
- Perform model and information quality checks in accordance with project standards, ISO 19650 principles, and company procedures, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and completeness of project information.
- Conduct multidisciplinary clash detection and coordination reviews. Classify, assign, and track coordination issues, ensuring that actions are clearly documented and resolved within agreed project timelines.
- Lead and document BIM coordination meetings, ensuring that coordination activities, model development, and issue resolution remain aligned with project milestones and delivery objectives.
- Support the Design Manager in the overall delivery of design information across all project stages, ensuring that model development and information outputs remain aligned with project objectives, requirements, and milestones.
- Ensure consistency in BIM management procedures, workflows, processes, and digital tools across project teams. Contribute to the development and implementation of company BIM standards and best practices.
- Monitor BIM performance indicators and prepare reports for management, providing relevant data and insights to support informed project and operational decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to improve BIM workflows, coordination processes, digital tools, and information management practices, contributing to the continuous development of BIM capabilities across projects.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Master's degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical), Architecture, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in BIM management, BIM coordination, BIM specialist, or document control roles, preferably within multidisciplinary engineering or construction projects.
- Standards & Information Management: Good knowledge of BIM and information management standards, particularly ISO 19650, as well as BIM coordination and information exchange processes.
- Software Skills: Strong technical knowledge of BIM software and coordination platforms, preferably including Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and other Autodesk tools.
- Project Coordination: Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing BIM-related issues, and supporting project delivery across multiple stages.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Leadership & Communication: Strong communication and team leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate stakeholders and effectively communicate technical requirements.
- Analytical Skills: Highly analytical and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Organization & Planning: Excellent organizational and strategic planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
