Job summary

VitalEssence Spa in Funchal is seeking an experienced Baker to join our bakery team. You will prepare and bake breads, pastries, and other items, ensuring quality and consistency to meet customer expectations.

The role requires physical stamina, the ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment, and availability to work full-time including weekends and holidays. Visa sponsorship and flight to Funchal are offered for non-EU candidates.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Baker in a bakery or pastry shop.
• Knowledge of various baking techniques and methods.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Good time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Physical stamina for standing, bending, lifting up to 50lbs, and working in a hot environment for extended periods.
• Availability to work full-time including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, and other baked goods according to recipes and quality standards.
• Measure and mix ingredients accurately.
• Monitor oven temperatures and adjust as needed.
• Ensure proper storage and rotation of ingredients.
• Decorate cakes and pastries as per customer requests.
• Keep work area clean and organized at all times.
• Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies when needed.
• Train new employees on baking techniques and company procedures.
