Vestas is seeking a Backend Engineer in Porto to join the Backend Engineering Chapter within Digital Customer Channels & Experience. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services for customer-facing digital solutions, leveraging AI-assisted development to boost quality and productivity.

You will work in product-led teams using Java, RESTful APIs, and cloud platforms (Azure) with containers and databases to support rapid innovation.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or similar.
• 3+ years of experience in backend development with Java.
• Experience building scalable backend systems and RESTful APIs.
• Interest in or experience using AI tools in software development.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure), containers, and databases.

The Backend Engineering Chapter, part of Digital Customer Channels & Experience within Vestas Digital Solutions, plays a key role in Vestas' digital transformation. The chapter is responsible for building and evolving backend capabilities that support digital products and platforms for Vestas' customers, while also enabling internal product teams.

We work in product‑led teams focused on designing, developing, and continuously improving scalable and reliable backend solutions. A central part of our way of working is the active use of AI in software development - both in the solutions we build and in how we improve development efficiency, quality, and collaboration. The chapter is a place where curiosity is expected, keeping skills and knowledge up to date is part of the role, and learning happens continuously through collaboration and experimentation. Additional information

This is a hybrid position based in Porto, Portugal and requires up to 25 days of travel per year, mostly to Denmark.
