AgileEngine in Portugal is seeking a Senior AWS/Security Networking Engineer to design secure, scalable cloud networks that drive business impact. Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience.
• AWS Advanced Networking – Specialty; AWS Security Specialty certifications.
• Networking: VPCs, subnets, routing, DNS, firewalls, NACLs, Transit Gateway.
• Security: NIST/CIS benchmarks; AWS IAM, KMS, GuardDuty, Security Hub, WAF, Shield.
• IaC: Terraform experience; familiarity with SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanning.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Able to work independently and within a team.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize AWS networking solutions (VPC design, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN, PrivateLink, Route 53, ALB/NLB).
• Define and enforce security standards aligned with NIST and CIS benchmarks.
• Conduct network and security assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and drive remediation.
• Support incident response and troubleshooting across network and security stacks.
• Automate routine tasks using infrastructure-as-code and security-as-code best practices.
• Collaborate with governance, risk, and compliance teams to maintain audit readiness.

About the Role

As a Senior AWS/Security Networking Engineer you will shape secure, scalable cloud networks that drive business impact. You'll influence design decisions, optimize infrastructure, and collaborate across teams, gaining hands‐on experience with AWS and security while growing in a dynamic, innovation‐focused environment.

What You Will Do

• Design, implement, and optimize AWS networking solutions (VPC design, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN, PrivateLink, Route 53, ALB/NLB, etc.).
• Define and enforce security standards in alignment with NIST and CIS benchmarks.
• Conduct network and security assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and drive remediation plans.
• Support incident response and troubleshooting across the network and security stack.
• Automate routine tasks using infrastructure‐as‐code and security‐as‐code best practices.
• Partner with governance, risk, and compliance teams to maintain audit readiness.

Must Haves

• 3+ years of experience.
• Certifications: AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty; AWS Security Specialty.
• Networking expertise: core networking concepts (routing, DNS, firewalls, load balancers) and AWS networking constructs (VPCs, subnets, security groups, NACLs, Transit Gateway, etc.).
• Security expertise: strong knowledge of NIST frameworks and CIS benchmarks; hands‐on experience with AWS security services (IAM, KMS, GuardDuty, Security Hub, WAF, Shield, etc.); understanding of encryption, key management, and secure data flows.
• Technical skills: proficiency in IaC tools (Terraform); familiarity with SIEM, intrusion detection/prevention, and vulnerability scanning tools.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a collaborative environment.
