PwC Services Portugal (PSP) is hiring an Audit Trainee for January 2027 to join its Matosinhos-based team. The role focuses on applying audit methodology, assessing risks, and delivering clear financial statements for international clients, with opportunities to work across funds, banks, and operating companies.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field, is in final year, and is fluent in English. French or German is a plus.

Who we are

PwC Services Portugal (PSP) is a joint venture between PwC Luxembourg and PwC Portugal, serving as an integral extension of PwC Luxembourg. Our growing team operates as an acceleration center supporting PwC Luxembourg’s clients. Leveraging a unique pool of talented professionals based in Matosinhos, our operating model ensures scalability, consistency, and quality in service delivery by integrating seamlessly into PwC Luxembourg’s operations and addressing talent attraction challenges sustainably.

PSP provides a range of services, including Assurance Audit (spanning all industries, with a particular focus on Real Estate and Private Equity), Broader Assurance Services, Tax (including Managed Services, Corporate Tax, VAT, and Accounting), and Advisory (specializing in the Global Fund Industry and Real Estate Valuation).

Your role

• Transform Complexity into Insight: Apply analytical thinking and audit methodology to assess risks, evaluate internal controls, and audit financial statements — delivering clarity in complex client environments.
• Drive global client engagement: Collaborate with international clients across diverse industries including funds, operational companies, and banks.
• Leverage technology for smarter audits: Utilize digital tools to enhance audit efficiency and uncover valuable insights.
• Develop expertise in global standards: Build deep knowledge in accounting standards, sustainability matters and other key regulatory frameworks that shape global and local audit practice.
• Collaborate to solve complex challenges: Work across disciplines to address multifaceted business issues with innovative solutions.

Your profile

• Background: Master degree in finance, accounting, audit, management, economics, business, or a related field — in your final year of studies.
• No prior audit experience is required.
