We’re looking for an SEO & AEO Manager to help Iterable win in both traditional search and the new AI-driven discovery landscape.
Buyers are no longer finding answers in one place. They are searching Google, asking ChatGPT, comparing vendors in Perplexity, reading analyst content, and relying on AI-generated summaries before they ever talk to sales. This role is responsible for making sure Iterable shows up clearly, accurately, and competitively in those moments.
You’ll own the strategy and execution for technical SEO, Answer Engine Optimization, and Generative Engine Optimization. You’ll improve how search engines, AI assistants, and buyers understand Iterable’s market position, product value, and authority across key categories. This role is not about one-time audits. It’s about creating a durable system for better visibility, better measurement, and better business outcomes.
We are looking for someone who can audit deeply, prioritize sharply, move quickly, and build systems that improve over time.
Key Responsibilities
Own technical SEO health and performance
- Conduct regular technical SEO audits across crawlability, indexation, internal linking, site architecture, page speed, structured data, rendering, canonicalization, redirects, XML sitemaps, and Core Web Vitals.
- Partner with Web, Engineering, Content, Product Marketing, and Analytics to prioritize SEO fixes based on business impact.
- Build repeatable systems for monitoring SEO health, issue detection, and performance improvement.
- Identify opportunities to improve organic visibility across priority categories, competitors, products, integrations, and use cases.
- Translate technical findings into clear recommendations that non-SEO stakeholders can act on.
Lead AEO and AI Search Optimization
- Build and execute an AEO/GEO strategy for platforms such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and other emerging AI search experiences.
- Improve how Iterable is represented in AI-generated responses across priority buying questions, category terms, competitive comparisons, and solution use cases.
- Audit and improve content structure, entity signals, schema, source authority, and answer quality to increase AI visibility.
- Develop strategies that help AI systems accurately understand Iterable’s differentiation, product capabilities, customer proof, and market relevance.
- Track changes in AI search behavior and turn those insights into practical experiments, content updates, and technical improvements.
Use AI to improve SEO Operations
- Use AI tools to improve keyword research, content gap analysis, SERP analysis, competitive monitoring, technical audits, internal linking recommendations, and reporting.
- Build workflows that make SEO and AEO work faster, more consistent, and easier to scale.
- Evaluate emerging AI tools and decide which are worth adopting, testing, or ignoring.
- Partner with content and product marketing teams to identify where AI can improve quality, speed, and strategic coverage without weakening brand voice or accuracy.
- Stay current on LLM search, retrieval behavior, structured data, entity optimization, and AI answer ranking signals.
Build a continuous improvement engine
- Define SEO and AEO KPIs tied to pipeline, qualified traffic, category visibility, and buyer intent.
- Create regular reporting that separates noise from meaningful movement.
- Run structured experiments across content optimization and AI search visibility.
- Monitor competitive movement and identify where Iterable is gaining, losing, or missing visibility.
- Create clear readouts for marketing leadership, including what changed, why it matters, and what action comes next.
What we’re looking for
- 5+ years of SEO experience, with deep hands‑on technical SEO expertise.
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex SEO issues across large or complex websites.
- Strong understanding of how search engines crawl, render, index, and rank content.
- Working knowledge of AEO, GEO, LLM search, and how AI assistants retrieve, summarize, and cite information.
- Experience using tools such as Google Search Console, GA4, AirOps, Semrush, or similar platforms.
- Ability to turn messy data into clear insights, priorities, and decisions.
- Strong communication skills, especially the ability to explain technical SEO issues in plain language.
- High ownership, strong attention to detail, and comfort driving work across teams without needing constant direction.
- A test‑and‑learn mindset with a bias toward continuous improvement.
Success metrics
- Improve organic visibility for high‑intent category, product, integration, and competitive terms.
- Increase qualified organic traffic that supports pipeline and revenue goals.
- Improve Iterable’s presence in AI‑generated answers across key buyer questions.
- Reduce technical SEO debt across the website.
- Build a repeatable operating rhythm for SEO and AEO monitoring, experimentation, and reporting.
- Help marketing teams make smarter decisions about where content, web, and technical work will have the greatest impact.
