UMO in Lisbon seeks a senior Android engineer to own the native Android app end-to-end, delivering high-performance features for fiat, crypto, and investments. You will ensure secure data handling, biometric authentication, and pixel-perfect UI using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.

Qualificações

• Minimum 3 years of commercial Android development experience.
• Strong Kotlin proficiency and Kotlin Multiplatform exposure.
• Proficiency with Jetpack Compose and modern architecture patterns.

Responsabilidades

About this role

As a part of our team, you'll help us shape a platform that works for One — a business owner, an artist, a freelancer. In this role, you will take direct technical ownership of our native Android application, building fluid, high-performance features that make managing fiat, crypto, and investments feel effortless and intuitive. We provide the space for you to operate with deep task autonomy, treating your craftsmanship with respect and eliminating micromanagement so you can ship secure, pixel-perfect mobile experiences end-to-end. You'll take ownership of:

• Native Feature Development: Build, test, and maintain high-performance native Android features (account views, real-time transaction feeds, payments, and multi-asset investment dashboards) ensuring feature parity with our web application.
• Secure API Integration: Collaborate closely with backend squads to consume and securely handle sensitive real-time financial data streaming across REST.
• Mobile Security Architecture: Implement and enforce rigorous client-side security measures, including biometric authentication, secure token storage via Android Keystore, certificate pinning, and robust MFA user flows.
• UI & Design Systems: Translate design specifications into pixel-perfect Material Design interfaces, utilizing Jetpack Compose to deliver intuitive user flows for complex financial actions.
• Code Quality & App Health: Write comprehensive unit and integration tests (JUnit, MockK), lead rigorous code reviews, profile memory/resource usage across diverse devices, and resolve crashes promptly.
• Agile Planning & Alignment: Actively participate in sprint planning, provide realistic estimates, and align technical roadmap commitments with Product Management while understanding the business context behind every feature.
• AI-Augmented Execution: Model the engineering craft using modern development assistants (Cursor, Claude, or GitHub Copilot) to accelerate daily UI iteration, code delivery, and test generation.

About you

• Commercial Android Depth: You have at least 3 years of commercial experience building native Android applications, strong proficiency in Kotlin, and hands‑on experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP).
• Modern Architecture & Jetpack: You feel completely at home with modern architectural patterns (MVVM/MVI, Clean Architecture) and essential Jetpack libraries (ViewModel, Flow, Navigation).
• UI & Reactive Mastery: You bring strong practical experience with Jetpack Compose (or a robust background in XML Views) alongside expert use of Kotlin Coroutines and Flow for reactive, concurrent operations.
• Mobile Security Focus: You have practical experience implementing security best practices for financial or sensitive data applications, including Keystore management, code obfuscation, and secure data storage.
• Testing & Quality Craft: You demonstrate proven experience writing effective Unit Tests (JUnit, Mockito/MockK), possess strong debugging skills, and care deeply about application stability and performance.
• Autonomous Execution & Ownership: You manage your commitments comfortably, taking end-to-end accountability for features from initial design to production deployment without needing micromanagement.
• Transparent & Respectful Collaboration: You communicate openly in English, value peer feedback, share technical context willingly across squads, and prioritize an absolute zero-tolerance policy for rudeness.

• Fintech & Crypto Domain Exposure: Prior experience building native mobile wallets, trading apps, or banking applications handling multi-currency accounts or digital assets.
• CI/CD & Mobile Release Pipelines: Familiarity with automated mobile build tools, Fastlane, and continuous integration pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
• Startup Agility: Experience working inside lean startup environments where you know how to keep your client-side architecture flexible as product targets evolve.
