UMO, a stealth FinTech venture, is building a unified, AI-powered platform across fiat, crypto, and investments. You will lead the Data squad, shaping the data platform and delivering production data products weekly.

As a Tech Lead you mentor Go/TS engineers, design real-time pipelines, ensure regulatory residency/auditability, and drive AI-enabled workflow improvements across global teams.

Qualificações

• Senior engineer (5+ yrs) with team leadership experience.

UMO is a stealth-mode FinTech venture aiming to evolve the way people experience money by building a unified, AI-powered, yet deeply human modern money platform across fiat, crypto, and investments - subject to regulatory approvals. The platform is being designed to break down traditional barriers to money across access, assets, and experience, enabling simpler, more adaptive ways for people to interact with financial services. About this role

As a part of our team, you'll help us shape a platform that works for One - a business owner, an artist, a freelancer.

You will lead our Data squad - the service provider every other squad depends on for data. You'll own the technical direction of the data platform: read models, CDC pipelines, and the analytical warehouse serving all teams. Our data platform is derived from the operational systems of record. You'll run the squad as an internal service: other teams bring requests;
you turn them into reliable, auditable data products.

You'll take ownership of:

• Squad Leadership & Execution: Lead, guide, and grow a high-performing squad of data and backend engineers. As Tech Lead you own outcomes end-to-end, including dependencies on other teams - success means features are live in production, not just tasks closed. You act as the technical reference point for other teams, remaining deeply hands-on by modeling AI-augmented development workflows and shipping production code every week.
• Data Platform Architecture: Define and evolve the technical blueprints for our high-load data platform, designing robust ETL/ELT pipelines and real-time processing services in Go - the data platform derives from operational sources and never becomes the master.
• Data Residency & Segregation: Architect storage and data flows that satisfy regulatory residency and segregation requirements, with auditability and retention built in.
• Event-Driven Systems & Streaming: Design event-driven data flows and CDC pipelines from operational databases into the warehouse;
  we run NATS, PostgreSQL, and ClickHouse.
• AI Tooling & Workflow Optimization: Integrate AI agents into the daily engineering workflow, configuring system rules, skills management, and prompt pipelines (Claude, Cursor) to elevate squad productivity.
• Data Observability & Engineering Craft: Ensure data consistency, reliability, and observability across PostgreSQL and ClickHouse storage layers while mentoring engineers across Go and TypeScript stacks, meeting regulatory-grade auditability and data-segregation requirements.

About you

• Engineering Leadership & Depth: You are a senior engineer (5+ yrs) with real experience leading an engineering team, bringing deep technical gravitas to guide architectural decisions and elevate your team's craft.
• Go System Mastery: You feel completely at home writing production-grade Go, bringing a deep understanding of concurrency patterns, performance tuning, and idiomatic backend execution.
• Data Streaming & Pipeline Expertise: You bring proven experience building CDC/ELT pipelines and scaling event-driven data architectures (e.G. NATS, Kafka).
• Database & Data Residency Depth: You bring strong, hands-on knowledge of PostgreSQL and ClickHouse (OLAP), alongside practical experience handling data residency and segregation requirements in regulated, multi-jurisdiction environments.
• Regulated FinTech Background: Prior experience building data platforms inside fintech, neobank, or regulated digital asset environments.
• AI-Native Modeling: You actively model the engineering craft using modern development assistants (Cursor, Claude) to accelerate daily architecture design, rule configuration, and code delivery.
• Transparent & Supportive Leadership: You communicate openly and prioritize mutual team respect and knowledge sharing.
• Linguistic Fluency: You speak and write English fluently (B2+) to confidently comm
• unicate technical architectures and drive alignment across global teams.

• Kafka Ecosystem Experience: Practical experience with the Kafka ecosystem, including custom connectors and complex transformations in Kafka Connect.
• ClickHouse Optimization: Direct experience with ClickHouse performance tuning, query optimization, and schema design at scale.
• Production ML Systems: Experience integrating machine learning pipelines or model outputs into live production data streams.
