emagine is seeking a Backend Developer with Java and Quarkus expertise to join our Porto team. AI will be a core part of your daily workflow, using tools such as GitLab Duo and Claude Code to accelerate coding, testing, and code reviews.

You will design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs, collaborate with QA and product, and help deliver reliable software in a fast-moving environment. This role offers room to grow and influence engineering practices.

Qualificações

• 4+ years of hands-on backend development experience.
• Proficient in Java; Quarkus experience is a plus.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools daily (e.g., GitLab Duo, Claude Code).
• Experience designing and building APIs and Java-based microservices.
• Experience writing automated unit and integration tests.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build and maintain backend services and APIs using Java and Quarkus.
• Use AI tools as part of daily workflow to accelerate coding, testing, debugging, and code reviews.
• Solve day-to-day backend tasks – features, bug fixes, refactors, integrations – leveraging AI.
• Write automated tests (unit and integration) for backend services.
• Participate in code reviews – AI-assisted and with teammates.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in CI/CD pipelines, using AI tools to speed up analysis.
• Collaborate closely with other backend engineers, QA, and product.
