We are seeking a highly qualified Chemical Engineer with a solid academic and practical foundation in chemical process engineering and water treatment technologies. The ideal candidate will have approximately 5 years of experience and a deep understanding of coagulation-flocculation chemistry, disinfection mechanisms, and the physico-chemical principles governing water purification. This role requires hands-on involvement in process design, chemical treatment strategies, and project execution for industrial and infrastructure-scale water treatment systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimize water treatment processes involving coagulation, flocculation, filtration, disinfection, and chemical dosing.
- Analyze and interpret raw water and treated water characteristics to determine the most effective chemical treatment methods.
- Develop and review PFDs, P&IDs, equipment datasheets, and chemical consumption estimates.
- Model and simulate mass transfer, chemical reaction kinetics, and solid-liquid separation phenomena in water processes.
- Select and specify chemical reagents for clarification, oxidation, neutralization, and scaling prevention.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams during basic and detailed engineering stages.
- Provide remote or on-site technical support during commissioning or troubleshooting of chemical systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (strictly required).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in water treatment, with strong focus on chemical and physico-chemical processes.
- Demonstrated knowledge in:
- Flocculation and coagulation chemistry
- Disinfection mechanisms (e.G., chlorine, ozone, UV)
- Scaling and corrosion control
- Physico-chemical modeling of water processes
- Experience with process simulation tools (e.G., Aspen, HYSYS), Excel-based models, and AutoCAD or similar for engineering diagrams.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in international, multidisciplinary teams.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
Preferred Experience
- Prior involvement in desalination, industrial wastewater treatment, or municipal water plants.
- Experience with resin systems, boron removal, or membrane pre-treatment strategies.
- Participation in commissioning activities, technical assessments, or lab-scale testing.
What We Offer
- Participation in innovative, international water treatment projects.
- Remote work flexibility with long-term development opportunities.
- Professional growth in a highly technical and specialized environment.
- Competitive compensation based on experience and performance.
