Jobtailor seeks a skilled Financial Accounting Lead to supervise general ledger activities in an international environment. You will oversee postings, reconciliations, and monthly closes while ensuring IFRS compliance and coaching the ledger team.

Role requires Chartered Accountant status and fluency in English and Portuguese, with strong ERP and Excel skills. You will collaborate with auditors and drive process improvements across finance operations.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar.
• Experience in a similar role and ability to lead a team.
• Chartered accountant registered at Ordem dos Contabilistas Certificados.
• Advanced knowledge in financial software and systems, SAP and Excel.
• English and Portuguese language skills in speaking and writing.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
• High level of accountability and accuracy.
• Steadfast communication and interpersonal skills with cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise the preparation and posting of general ledger journal entries and ensure IFRS alignment.
• Review and validate reconciliations of subsidiary ledgers for accuracy.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and year-end close reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Ensure timely audit schedules and respond to auditor inquiries.
• Identify improvements to financial systems and procedures to boost efficiency and controls.
• Oversee team deliverables and ensure deadlines are met.
• Coach and review ledger team members’ work.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the preparation and posting of general ledger journal entries and ensure alignment with IFRS and internal accounting policies.
• Review and validate reconciliations of subsidiary ledgers and ensure completeness and accuracy of financial records.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Ensure timely preparation and submission of audit schedules and assist in responding to auditor inquiries.
• Identify and recommend improvements to financial systems and procedures to enhance efficiency and internal controls.
• Oversee team deliverables and ensure compliance with reporting deadlines.
• Guide and support team members within the general ledger team through coaching and review of their work.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar.
• Experience in a similar role and ability to work independently and lead team members effectively.
• Chartered accountant registered at Ordem dos Contabilistas Certificados (mandatory).
• Advanced knowledge in financial software and systems, spreadsheet and data analysis tools (SAP and Excel preferred).
• English and Portuguese language skills in speaking and writing; further language skills desirable.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
• High level of accountability and accuracy.
