Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Management is required.
• 5+ years accounting/finance experience is required.
• CPA/ACCA qualification is a plus.
• Excellent English skills, both written and verbal are required.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee general ledger activities and month-end/year-end close processes.
• Analyze financial results monthly and report variances to budget/forecast.
• Support internal controls and process improvements; assist with SOX documentation.
• Coordinate with internal and external audit teams and prepare supporting docs.
• Assist with quarterly reports and ERP data corrections.
• Prepare VAT returns and corporate tax accruals and filings.
• Oversee end-to-end payroll processes and maintain payroll records.

Pessoas e Sistemas, is a Human Resources consulting company specialising in Recruitment and Selection, Training, and Consultancy, and is currently recruiting candidates for a cliente, located in Vila Nova de Gaia, for the following role:

Accountant (m/f/d)

Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Management
• 5+ years accounting/finance experience;
• Accounting qualification, such as CPA or ACCA certification, is preferred
• Strong understanding of accounting theory (IFRS a plus)
• Previous experience working in an audit company or SOX compliance environment would be a bónus
• Excellent English skills, both verbal and in writing
• Excel proficiency is a must
• Highly detail-oriented and organized in work
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities:

• Oversee general ledger activities and ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes (preparing and reviewing journal entries, handling monthly accruals and performing account reconciliations and financial analysis)
• Assist with analyzing financial results monthly, and report on variances to prior periods and to budget/forecast
• Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls, and implement process improvements
• Liaise with both Internal and External audit teams, including preparing supporting documentation and SOX compliant walkthrough documentation
• Assist with quarterly reports, analyzing and correcting discrepancies in our ERP system
• Collaborate cross-functionally with other business stakeholders, helping business decision-making by preparing cost and profitability analyses on a requested basis
• Prepare and / or file local VAT returns and corporate tax accruals and filings
• Oversee end-to-end payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate compensation for all employees
• Maintain detailed payroll records to ensure compliance with tax regulations, labor law and company polices.
