St. Peter's International School in Portugal seeks a compassionate 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to help two Grade 8 students with SEN.

The part-time role (20 hours/week) is freelance through green receipts, with English as the primary language and Mandarin Chinese for translating vocabulary when needed. You will work with teachers, the SENCO, and families, keep progress records, attend IEP reviews, and support students toward greater independence while communicating with families in Mandarin

Qualificações

• Experience working with students with high-functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or other special educational needs.
• Experience in mainstream secondary classrooms.
• Understanding of inclusive education and differentiated support strategies.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Fluency in English; Mandarin Chinese preferred for family communication.

Responsabilidades

• Provide one-to-one support to two Grade 8 students during academic lessons.
• Break down instructions, adapt learning materials, and support organization and study skills.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and the SENCO.
• Attend meetings, including IEP reviews and parent conferences, as required.
• Communicate with families in Mandarin Chinese when appropriate.
