Job summary

HARMAN International in Łódź, Poland is seeking an experienced Windows IT Engineer to lead the design, evolution, and integration of Windows-based infrastructure. You will drive identity management, server OS, virtualization, automation, and security compliance to ensure a scalable, secure Microsoft environment.

This hybrid role requires 8+ years in Microsoft systems engineering, expertise in AD design, Windows Server components, and PowerShell automation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in systems engineering/administration focused on Microsoft technologies.
• Deep expertise in Active Directory design (multi-domain/forests, sites, replication).
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server core components (Failover Clustering, File Server, Storage Spaces Direct).
• Experience designing hybrid identities (Entra ID Connect, federation, SSO, MFA, Conditional Access).
• Proficiency with PowerShell scripting for automation and configuration management.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization (Hyper-V, VMware vSphere) and SAN/NAS storage integration.
• Solid understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, firewalls) as it relates to Windows environments.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end Windows server and client infrastructure (on-premises, hybrid, and cloud).
• Develop and maintain the roadmap for Active Directory (AD DS), Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Certificate Services (PKI).
• Architect hybrid identity solutions integrating on-prem AD with Azure AD (Entra ID) and Microsoft 365.
• Design virtualization strategies (Hyper-V, VMware) and storage configurations for Windows workloads.
• Plan high-availability, disaster recovery, and backup solutions for Windows systems.
• Establish standards for Windows Server (2019/2022/2025) and Windows 10/11 deployment (imaging, Autopilot, MDM).
• Design automated provisioning workflows using PowerShell, DSC, or Ansible.
• Lead migration projects (e.g., legacy to modern platforms, on-prem to Azure IaaS/PaaS).
• Define monitoring, patching, and update strategies (Windows Update for Business, WSUS, Azure Update Manager).
• Perform proof of concepts (POC) and proof of architecture (POA) with various hardware and software vendors.

We are seeking an experienced Windows IT Engineer to lead the design, evolution, and integration of our Windows-based infrastructure. You will drive architectural decisions regarding identity management (Active Directory/Entra ID), server operating systems, virtualization, automation, and security compliance. This role bridges high-level business strategy with hands-on technical implementation, ensuring that our Microsoft environment is scalable, resilient, and secure.

How You’ll Make An Impact

Architecture & Design

• Design end-to-end Windows server and client infrastructure (on-premises, hybrid, and cloud).

• Perform proof of concepts (POC) and proof of architecture (POA) with various hardware and software vendors to pick-up the best solution.

Security & Compliance

• Embed security best practices (Zero Trust, least privilege, LAPS, Credential Guard).
• Design RBAC models, tiered administration, and privileged access workstations (PAWs).
• Ensure compliance with industry standards (SOC2, ISO 27001, NIST) through audit-ready Windows configurations.
• Collaborate with security teams on endpoint detection, logging (Sentinel/SIEM), and vulnerability management.

Collaboration & Leadership

• Partner with network, storage, and security architects to ensure interoperability.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and architecture diagrams.
• Mentor system administrators and lead technical review sessions.
• Evaluate emerging Microsoft technologies and provide build vs. buy recommendations.

• Experience with Azure IaaS (VMs, Scale Sets, Managed Disks, Azure Files) and Azure ARC.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates).
• Knowledge of Citrix or AVD (Azure Virtual Desktop) architecture.
• Exposure to Linux systems (basic administration or interoperability).
• Analytical problem‑solver with systematic thinking.
• Excellent documentation and diagramming abilities (Visio, Lucidchart, Draw.io).
• Strong communication skills – able to explain complex infrastructure to non-technical leaders.
• Ability to lead crisis troubleshooting efforts and root cause analysis.
