Job summary

A leading insurance company in Warsaw is looking for an Underwriter to assess and underwrite Life Insurance and Income Protection applications. The ideal candidate will have experience in underwriting, strong communication skills, and the ability to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities include evaluating risks, contributing to process improvements, and delivering high-quality customer experiences. Qualifications

• Experience in Life Insurance, Critical Illness, and/or Income Protection underwriting.

Job description

* Assessing and underwriting Life Insurance, Critical Illness and Income Protection applications in the UK market, including medical and nonmedical risk, in line with Aviva’s underwriting philosophy, standards, and delegated authority.* Communicating via email and phone, clearly and professionally, with advisers, customers, internal stakeholders and UK underwriting colleagues to explain underwriting requirements and decisions.* Escalating cases appropriately where authority limits are exceeded or additional expertise is required.* Completing Post Issue Sampling of medical reports on previously auto-accepted cases, to ensure accurate outcomes.* Contributing to continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to improve processes, quality, and customer experience.* Ensuring all underwriting activity is compliant with regulatory requirements, data protection standards, and Aviva policies.Delivering accurate, consistent and customer-focused decisions, ensuring a high-quality experience throughout the underwriting process.* Underwriting experience in Life Insurance, Critical Illness, and/or Income Protection, preferably in all 3 areas.* Solid capability to assess risk accurately and consistently within authority, including appropriate escalations and quality checks to ensure sound underwriting decisions.* Proficiency in English.* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to explain underwriting requirements and decisions clearly to advisers, customers, and internal stakeholders.* High level of attention to detail, analytical thinking, and accountability in decision-making.* A mindset geared toward continuous improvement, with the ability to identify opportunities to enhance processes, quality, or customer experience.* Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, data protection standards, and internal policies.Cafeteria system of benefits (e.g. MultiSport card) Attractive office location in Warsaw - Gdański Business Center Most of our people are smart working – spending also time in our office - combining the benefits of flexibility, with time together with colleagues.
