Job summary

Oxford Instruments in the Warsaw area seeks a Field Service Engineer to install and upgrade systems at customer sites, ensuring full operation of OIPT equipment with regular travel across Eastern Europe and the EMEA region.

You will perform commissioning, service, and detailed reporting, liaising with technical support and sales teams. English fluency is required, a second European language is a plus, and a driving licence is essential. A company car and home-office options are available.

Qualifications

• Substantial relevant experience and training.
• Ability to interpret Electrical and Mechanical drawings.
• Good PC/PLC experience preferred.
• Experience in Semiconductor or closely related high-tech electronics.
• Fluent English speaker; a second European language is a plus.
• Driving licence.
• Be prepared for extensive travel up to 90%.
• Able to work on own initiative and prioritize multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• To carry out the commissioning of equipment including any operational and maintenance training requirements.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns for warranty and service contract work.
• Report regularly to the EMEA Team Leader on all relevant issues and for PDR objectives.
• Provide a visit report detailing work completed, outstanding issues, time on site, travel etc., and help ensure chargeable work is invoiced promptly.
• Authorise system ‘buy-off’ prior to shipment.
• Liaise with technical support and systems engineering on potential or actual system problems.
• Liaise with Sales Team to provide background information.
• Help maintain an accurate record of the status of systems, timing of warranty, parts supplied and service contracts.
• Keep up to date all relevant enquiries and project files on any significant information.
• Provide detailed and accurate records of expenses incurred on behalf of the Company.
