Job summary

GlobalLogic, a Hitachi Group Company, seeks a Technical Writer (Japanese / English) in Poland to create bilingual documentation for a financial software modernization project. You will translate and produce clear, precise technical docs and serve as a real-time interpreter between the development team and Japanese stakeholders.

The role requires JLPT/N1-N2 level Japanese and at least strong English (B2+), excellent cross-cultural communication, and hands-on technical writing experience.

Qualifications

• Written and spoken Japanese language proficiency (JLPT N1/N2 level).
• Written and spoken English language proficiency (B2 or higher).
• Proven ability to facilitate between Japan and CEE teams.
• Technical writing experience with bilingual documentation.
• Real-time translation skills for meetings and reviews.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute and maintain project documentation.
• Technical document translation between Japanese and English.
• Serve as primary real-time interpreter during video conferences and meetings.

This project involves a comprehensive assessment of the client’s existing financial software solution (the “As-Is” state) to identify functional limitations, technical debt, and business gaps. Following the analysis, the project team will design and propose a modernized, scalable, and secure future state (the “To-Be” solution) that aligns with the client’s strategic objectives. A critical component of this project is the creation of rigorous, bilingual technical documentation to bridge the gap between our development team and the Japanese client stakeholders.

Requirements

Must have:

• Written and spoken Japanese language proficiency (equivalent of JLPT N1 or N2, it is not mandatory to have an official JLPT certification
• Written and spoken English language proficiency (equivalent of B2 or higher)
• Proven communication and interpersonal skills to fascilitate working between Japan and CEE based teams
• Technical Writting skills
• Real-time Translation skills

Job responsibilities

• Develop, execute and maintain project documentation

• Proactively identify potential misunderstandings caused by language barriers and work to clarify intent, scope, and technical details before they impact the development cycle
• Assist team members with ad-hoc translation requests for emails, chat messages
