Job summary

BorgWarner is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to drive supplier quality in global automotive projects, influencing quality performance and supply chain development.

You will ensure robust supplier development, act as the liaison between suppliers and internal teams, and support new product launches with APQP/PPAP practices. This role demands collaboration and a strong problem-solving mindset.

Qualifications

• Technical degree in engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years in SQE/SQA or supplier quality in automotive.
• Knowledge of 8D, 5 Why and Ishikawa problem-solving tools.
• Familiarity with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards.
• Experience working with suppliers and resolving quality issues.
• Knowledge of APQP and PPAP processes.
• English at least B2 level.

Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) – Automotive

Join our Quality team in a fast-growing eMobility environment. In this role, you will be responsible for supplier component quality in global automotive projects (including OEMs), with a real impact on quality performance and supply chain development.

Job Purpose

Ensure supplier quality performance by driving effective problem resolution, continuous improvement, and robust supplier development processes. Act as a key interface between suppliers and internal stakeholders to secure high-quality standards and support smooth product launches.

Your Responsibilities

• Manage supplier quality (Supplier Quality Assurance – SQA) in automotive projects
• Analyze and solve quality issues using 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa methodologies
• Coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) at suppliers
• Conduct supplier audits
• Evaluate and develop suppliers (Supplier Development)
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Engineering, Production, and global suppliers
• Support new product launches (APQP, PPAP, component implementation)
• Manage supplier changes (Supplier Change Management)
• Monitor quality KPIs (PPM, complaints, KPIs)

Our Requirements

• Technical degree (preferred: electronics, mechanics, mechatronics)
• Minimum 2 years of experience as: Supplier Quality Engineer / SQE / SQA, or in supplier or production quality within automotive
• Knowledge of quality tools: 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa
• Familiarity with standards: IATF 16949, ISO 9001
• Experience working with suppliers and solving quality issues
• Knowledge of APQP, PPAP processes
• English at a communicative level (min. B2)
