Job summary

Sweco Design Center Poland seeks a senior structural engineer to lead the design and calculation of load-bearing structures for a variety of buildings. You will prepare structural docs, collaborate with suppliers, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, applying FEM modeling and BIM methods.

Ideal candidates have a Civil Engineering degree, 10+ years in structural elements and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of professional experience in calculating primary structural elements of building.
• Advanced level in Robot Structural Analysis/Strusoft FEM Design/MathCAD, other FEM programs.
• Materials expertise with concrete elements and foundations.
• A solid understanding of static principles and their application in engineering.
• Very good communication skills in English (written and spoken).
• Good to have: Revit knowledge, modelling of constructions, computational design, Grasshopper for parametric modelling of construction.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of structural documentation and structural calculations;

The Sweco Design Center Poland operates as an internal design center within the Sweco Group. It specializes in providing expert services in planning, engineering, architecture, and design across diverse sectors, including infrastructure, transportation, urban planning, construction, energy, manufacturing, and IT systems. The Design Center currently collaborates with three countries: Sweden, Norway and Denmark.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of structural documentation and structural calculations;
• Design of load-bearing structures;

What type of project will you work:

We work with both new construction and renovation projects within residential buildings, schools, daycare institutions, sports and cultural facilities, commercial buildings, and office buildings. Civil structures - mostly concrete, additionally steel, and timber construction.

Our requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field;
• 10+ years of professional experience in calculating primary structural elements of building - expertise with both renovation and new construction is an advantage.
• Advanced level in Robot Structural Analysis/Strusoft FEM Design/MathCAD, other FEM programs;
• Materials expertise with concrete elements and foundations;
• A solid understanding of static principles and their application in engineering;
• Very good communication skills in English (written and spoken);
• Good to have: Revit knowledge, modelling of constructions, skills within computational design, programming skills in Grasshopper for parametric modelling of construction.
