Job summary

VELUX Commercial in Września, Poland seeks an experienced Team Leader, Strategic Sourcing to lead an international team and own end-to-end sourcing across direct and indirect spend. • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, SCM, or Engineering.
• Extensive experience in strategic sourcing and procurement in manufacturing.
• Proven leadership in international or matrix organisations.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop an international team of Strategic Buyers.
• Drive strategic sourcing initiatives across direct and indirect spend.
• Own key sourcing categories from market analysis to contracting.
• Develop category strategies focused on cost, quality, innovation, and sustainability.
• Negotiate agreements delivering long-term value with suppliers.
• Manage indirect spend categories including services and software.
• Partner with Product Development, Operations, Finance, Quality, and Sustainability.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks and ensure continuity.

Shape the Future of Strategic Sourcing at VELUX Commercial

At VELUX Commercial, we are strengthening our sourcing organisation and looking for an experienced leader to join us in Września, Poland, and help drive this journey forward.

As our new Team Leader, Strategic Sourcing, you will take on a unique player-coach role, combining team leadership with hands-on category responsibility. This position offers the opportunity to influence sourcing decisions across multiple categories, drive strategic initiatives, and help shape the future direction of sourcing within VELUX Commercial.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop an international team of Strategic Buyers across Poland and Denmark
• Drive strategic sourcing initiatives across direct and indirect spend categories
• Own key sourcing categories and manage end-to-end sourcing activities, from market analysis to supplier selection and contracting
• Develop and execute category strategies focused on cost competitiveness, quality, innovation, and sustainability
• Build strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate agreements that create long-term value
• Build and implement a structured approach to managing indirect spend categories including services, non-production materials, and software
• Partner closely with Product Development, Product Management, Operations, Finance, Quality, and Sustainability teams
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks while ensuring business continuity
• Drive continuous improvement, digitalisation, and sourcing excellence across the organisation
• Contribute to VELUX sustainability ambitions through responsible sourcing practices

Your Profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field
• Extensive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management within a manufacturing environment
• Proven leadership experience, ideally in an international or matrix organisation
• Strong track record in supplier negotiations, category strategy development, and contract management
• Experience managing both direct and indirect spend categories
• Ability to combine strategic thinking with a hands-on, results-oriented approach
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across different organisational levels
• Analytical mindset with the ability to transform business needs into sourcing strategies
• Fluent English communication skills
• Experience building or developing teams is considered an advantage
