Job summary

Valmet is seeking a Category Purchaser to lead, coordinate and execute procurement work for Valmet EMEA Supply Chain. The position is located in Wrocław, Poland, and serves EMEA Service Operations, collaborating with global sourcing, sales, engineering, quality and logistics.

The role is temporary through December 31, 2027, requiring a Master’s or Bachelor's degree and 3 years’ experience. Strong analytical, negotiation and ERP skills are essential, with fluency in Polish and English.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in engineering or commercial field.
• 3 years of working experience in a similar procurement role.
• Excellent analytical skills with data-driven decision making.
• Strong influencing and negotiation skills in a global matrix.
• Proficient Windows environment (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ERP systems (Infor LN).
• Fluent in Polish and English; other languages are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Execute procurement assignments for named categories/suppliers.
• Follow-up purchase orders for cost, quality and delivery time.
• Maintain price agreements and item data in ERP and related systems.
• Plan and conduct annual price negotiations with defined suppliers.
• Define supply strategies with procurement team and ensure timely actions.
• Develop and widen supplier base with focus on cost, quality and delivery.
• Manage supplier relationships and support sales and cost-estimation activities.
• Ensure strategy implementation with chosen vendors and monitor industry developments.
• Identify and evaluate new suppliers and review PO claims for compliance.
