Job summary

Hard Rock Digital is seeking a seasoned Staff DevOps Engineer to steer the internal developer platform. You will own architecture, set standards for self-service patterns, and drive multi-quarter platform initiatives across DevOps, SRE, security, and product engineering teams.

You will champion AI-enabled workflows, embed AI-assisted tooling into the platform, and measure success with engineering-wide metrics, guiding adoption and ensuring security by default.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in DevOps/Platform Engineering or SRE with leadership.
• Experience owning architecture and roadmap for an internal dev platform at scale (Backstage preferred).
• Proven track record driving cross-team adoption of self-service workflows.
• Deep knowledge of AWS and cloud-native architectures at scale.
• Strong Kubernetes, Docker, Helm experience and platform-level abstractions.
• IaC expertise with Terraform/Terragrunt and modular ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for our internal developer platform (Backstage).
• Set company-wide standards for golden paths, self-service workflows, and paved-road patterns.
• Evaluate build-vs-buy and platform investments across engineering teams.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership to align platform roadmap with company priorities.
• Define and report on platform health and DevEx metrics (DORA, lead time, adoption).
• Drive platform adoption across teams, including migration of legacy workflows.
• Architect multi-account AWS, EKS/Kubernetes primitives, and Terraform module ecosystems.
• Champion security, compliance, and guardrails by design at the platform level.
• Promote and scale AI-enabled engineering practices across the org.
